This policy explains what information the TogetherBook app ("TogetherBook", "we", "us") collects, how it is used and the choices you have. TogetherBook is operated by Sumei Zhang. Contact: support@togetherbook.app.

Information we collect

• Account information: your email address and password. Passwords are stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider.
• Content you create: book projects, the stories and notes you contribute, outlines, chapter drafts and versions, comments, votes and chat messages in a project.
• Project records: project membership and invitations, agreements you accept, contributor credit and revenue-share settings, publishing details you enter and any print-interest choice you make.
• AI usage counts: when you use an AI feature we record that a request was made and when, so we can enforce daily limits. We do not keep the AI conversation itself beyond the result saved in your project.
• On your device only: your language preference. Book exports (EPUB and print files) are generated on your device and are not uploaded by TogetherBook.

We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking tools, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

How we use information

• To create and secure your account and sign you in.
• To store your projects and share them with the members you invite.
• To provide AI features you choose to use, such as organizing contributions, drafting chapters, suggesting details and fixing typos.
• To send account emails such as sign-up confirmation.
• To respond to support requests.

Who can see your content

Content in a book project is visible to the members of that project, according to their role. It is not public. We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising.

Service providers

We use these providers to run TogetherBook. They process data on our behalf:

• Supabase — database, authentication and server functions (servers in the United States).
• OpenAI — processes the text you send when you use an AI feature. Under OpenAI's API terms, this data is not used to train their models.
• Resend — delivers account emails.
• Cloudflare — hosts this website.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your account and content while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account by emailing support@togetherbook.app from the address you signed up with. We then delete your account and the content you created, except where other project members' content depends on it or where we must keep records by law. Content you contributed to a shared project may remain visible to that project's other members in versions they already approved.

Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections, and database access rules limit each user to the projects they belong to. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Children

TogetherBook is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal information. Contact us to make a request.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
